Front mount Intercoolers:

I'll start off with a stupid little rant. An intercooler, in use on a single stage forced induction application, is really an after-cooler. An intercooler is an intermediate air charge cooler generally used in between forms of forced induction such as after a turbocharger and before a supercharger. Regardless, the name somehow because popular nomenclatures in the automotive world and despite being technically wrong it was generally accepted as correct. Just like how everyone ignorantly calls them shock dampeners instead of shock dampers.
